Hello and welcome!
This is your complete guide to Golden Eye Chef 2025 — the world’s first and only global culinary competition for blind and visually impaired chefs. Whether you’re totally blind, partially blind, a home cook, or a professional chef — this contest is for you!
We’re here to guide you on how to enter, what to cook, how you’ll be judged, and how your voice and story can inspire the world. Let’s get started!
Introduction to Golden Eye Chef 2025
So, you’ve heard of cooking competitions, right? But Golden Eye Chef 2025 is something completely different. This isn’t just about cooking; it’s about breaking barriers and showing the world that sight doesn’t matter when it comes to making delicious food. The competition is designed for blind and visually impaired chefs like you!
The tagline says it all: “Cooking Beyond Seeing.”
It’s a global movement, not just a contest. This competition is all about giving chefs like you a chance to show your creativity, your passion, and most importantly, your vision in the kitchen — no matter what you can or can’t see.
Golden Eye Chef 2025 was announced on 7 June 2025. This is the 7th edition of the Golden Eye Contest, and it’s an online video recipe competition. To participate, you need to create a cooking video and email it to goldeneyechef@antardrishti.org by 7th July 2024.
The competition is a two-phase event, but we’ll focus on the first phase — the Online Video Recipe Contest.
The Theme: “One Pan Wonder: Quick and Simple”
Here’s the fun part! In Phase One, you’ll be asked to create a dish that’s quick, simple, and cooked in just one pan. You must use only five ingredients or fewer. Now, don’t worry about it being too simple or boring — this is where you can really show your creativity.
The idea is to keep it easy but unique. You don’t need fancy equipment or loads of ingredients. Just one pan, five ingredients, and 15 minutes. That’s the challenge!
You’re also encouraged to share your story. Tell us why this dish is special to you. Is it something your grandmother used to make? Or maybe it’s a dish that helped you through a tough time? Whatever the reason, we want to hear it.
How to Participate: Step-by-Step
Let me walk you through how to enter.
Step 1: Choose your dish.
- It has to be something you can cook in one pan.
- You must use five ingredients or fewer (but remember, salt, oil, water, and common spices don’t count toward your five ingredients).
- Make sure it’s a dish you can cook in under 15 minutes.
Step 2: Get your ingredients ready.
- Mise en place: That means having everything organized before you start. Get your ingredients, pan, utensils, and equipment ready.
Step 3: Film your video.
- The video should not exceed 15 minutes.
- In the video, make sure to include:
- The name of your dish
- List the ingredients you’re using
- Walk us through the steps — from prepping, to cooking, to plating
- And most importantly, tell your story. Why is this dish meaningful to you?
Step 4: Submit your video.
- The video must be emailed to goldeneyechef@antardrishti.org by 7th July 2024.
