The competition is open to blind and visually impaired chefs — whether you’re totally blind, partially blind, a home cook, or a professional chef. If you have a passion for cooking, this competition is for you!
3. How do I enter Golden Eye Chef 2025?
To participate, you need to create a cooking video and submit it by email. Here’s how to enter:
- Step 1: Choose a dish that can be cooked in one pan with maximum ingredients or fewer (Salt, oil, water, and common spices are not counted among the five ingredients).
- Step 2: Organize your ingredients and cooking tools (mise en place).
- Step 3: Record a video explaining the dish and the story behind it. The video should not exceed 15 minutes.
- Step 4: Submit your video to goldeneyechef@antardrishti.org by 7th July 2024.
4. What is the theme for Golden Eye Chef 2025?
The theme for Phase One is “One Pan Wonder: Quick and Simple.” You must create a dish that:
- Is cooked in one pan.
- Uses five ingredients or fewer (Salt, oil, water, and common spices are not counted among the five ingredients).
- Can be prepared in under 15 minutes.
5. Is there an entry fee to participate?
No, there is no entry fee to participate in the contest.
6. What should I include in my recipe video?
Your video should include:
- The name of your dish.
- A list of ingredients and their quantities.
- A step-by-step process from prepping, to cooking, to plating.
- Your story about why this dish is meaningful to you.
- The video should not exceed 15 minutes in duration.
7. Can I submit my video in any language?
Yes, you can submit your video in any language. However, if the video is not in English or Hindi, please provide the English text of the voiceover in the video.
8. What do the judges look for in the video submissions?
The judges will evaluate the following criteria, each worth 20 points:
- One-Pan Simplicity: Did you follow the theme of using one pan and five ingredients or fewer?
- Mise en Place – Preparation & Flow: Were you organized and did the cooking process flow smoothly?
- Creativity & Innovation: How creative and innovative was your dish? Did you bring something new to the table?
- Authenticity & Storytelling: Did you share a personal story about the dish and explain why it’s meaningful to you?
- Imagery of Final Dish: Did you describe the dish in a way that allows the judges to imagine its taste, smell, and texture?
9. What are the rules and regulations for the competition?
- You can only submit one recipe.
- The video must be clear and easy to follow, and the dish name and ingredient list must be included.
- The entire cooking process should be explained clearly.
- Video quality: Use any camera (e.g., mobile) to record the video. Ensure the video is in landscape format and has good audio and video quality.
- No help: You must cook the dish on your own, but you can have someone assist with recording the video.
- No editing: Only video pauses are allowed — no editing in the video.
- Save your video and text file with your name and recipe name.
10. How long can my video be?
Your video should be no longer than 15 minutes.
11. What should I do if I need help recording my video?
While you must cook the dish on your own, you can have someone help you with recording the video. However, no one else can assist you during the cooking process. The video must be a true representation of your work.
12. What should I include in my narrative for the video?
Your narrative is the heart and soul of your recipe. It’s your opportunity to explain:
- Why you chose this dish.
- The inspiration behind it.
- Whether the dish reflects your culture or traditions.
- If any of the ingredients are locally sourced.
- Your creative process in putting the dish together.
13. How will I be judged?
Judging will be based on five main criteria:
- One-Pan Simplicity
- Mise en Place – Preparation & Flow
- Creativity & Innovation
- Authenticity & Storytelling
- Imagery of Final Dish
Each of these criteria is worth 20 points, making a total of 100 points.
14. When is the submission deadline?
