Braden Burby | Cooking Through Courage
16 Years Old | Partially Blind | USA
“Too young to compete, but too inspiring to ignore.”
Meet Braden
Braden Burby is a passionate 16-year-old home cook from the United States. Diagnosed with Cockayne Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that causes premature aging, tremors, and speech challenges, Braden has faced more obstacles than most face in a lifetime.
In early 2024, he experienced sudden vision loss due to Leber Hereditary Optic Neuropathy (LHON) — but that didn’t stop him. Instead, Braden turned even more deeply to the kitchen, where cooking became not just a hobby, but a creative and healing outlet.
With over 19,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel, Braden now inspires thousands around the world by sharing his love for food and his unshakable spirit.
